Meet Jaq – A Sweet, Playful Pup with a Big Heart
Jaq’s journey started in the most heartbreaking way—tucked inside a box next to a dumpster with his siblings, a scattering of food their only comfort. Picked up by Animal Control and brought to a shelter in Eagle Pass, they waited for months without a single inquiry. That’s when we stepped in, determined to give these forgotten pups a real chance at life.
Now around 7 to 8 months old and just over 30 lbs, Jaq is a Lab/Bulldog mix with a fun-loving spirit and a heart full of affection. He’s incredibly social with other dogs and thrives in their company. Whether he's playing chase in the yard, tossing around his toys, or gently sniffing at the cats who share his space, Jaq is happiest when he’s with friends—furry or human.
He’s also great with kids and enjoys soaking up attention from his people. Like many young dogs, Jaq can be a little shy in new places or unfamiliar situations. But with just a little patience and reassurance, he adjusts quickly and finds his groove. He’s naturally curious, loves his toys, and has a particular weakness for treats—which makes training both fun and rewarding.
As a Lab/Bulldog mix, Jaq combines the playful intelligence of the Labrador with the laid-back charm of the Bulldog. He’ll need continued structure, gentle guidance, and consistent training to help him become the confident, well-mannered adult dog he’s meant to be.
With the right family, he’ll grow into a loyal, joyful companion—one who brings light and laughter into every room he enters.
Jaq is neutered, healthy, and heartworm negative. He’s ready to trade in shelter life for a loving home where he’ll never be overlooked again. Could your home be the one where his forever story begins?
