Meet Missy – A Joyful Spirit with a Shepherd's Heart. She's just longing for a family to give her a chance even with her little quirks.
Missy’s story began in heartbreak—dumped in an industrial park and nearly hit by traffic, she was saved by a kind warehouse worker who saw the light in her eyes and knew she deserved better. Now this 3-year-old Shepherd mix is ready to leave her past behind and step into the life she's always deserved: one filled with love, purpose, and play.
At just under 50 pounds, Missy is a perfect medium-large size companion with a heart full of joy and a mind as sharp as they come. True to her Shepherd roots, she’s incredibly intelligent, eager to please, and quick to learn. She already knows basic commands and is very people-oriented—she thrives on praise, affection, and being part of a family’s daily life.
Missy has a medium-to-high energy level and would do best in a home that offers regular physical and mental stimulation. Walks in the park? She’s all in. A game of fetch in the yard? Her favorite. She adores her plush toys and proudly carries them wherever she goes, always with a happy tail wag and a smile on her face.
She does beautifully with other dogs especially medium and large ones. Sometimes she can play a little rough when it comes to smaller dogs. For that reason , we recommend homes with bigger dogs.
She's great with children, making her a great fit for a family that wants a loyal and playful companion.
However, Missy’s herding instincts kick in when it comes to small animals—she’s not a fan of cats and will happily chase squirrels out of the yard. Therefore we must say (NO CATS, FERRERS, BUNNIES, AR OTHER SMALL ANIMALS!) She’ll need a cat-free home with a secure fence and some room to run and explore safely.
Missy has completed heartworm treatment as of early February 2024 and is now officially heartworm-free, healthy, spayed, and ready for her next adventure.
This beautiful girl has survived abandonment with her joy intact. All she wants now is a home where she’s cherished and included—a place where she can love and be loved, forever. Will you be the happy ending Missy’s been waiting for?
