Yonder’s journey began in a quiet rural area just outside San Antonio, where he was heartbreakingly dumped on the side of the road. Thankfully, a compassionate woman saw it happen and immediately stepped in to get him to safety. She reached out to us, and from the moment we met him, it was clear this pup was something special.
At just 8 months old and weighing 43.7 pounds, Yonder is the definition of joyful. He’s a shepherd mix—likely with Belgian and Anatolian roots—giving him a beautiful combination of intelligence, loyalty, and affection.
He’s already neutered, heartworm negative, and in excellent health—ready to start the next chapter of his life with a family who will treasure him. Yonder is bursting with personality and has never met a stranger. He absolutely adores people, kids included, and is always eager to make new friends—whether they walk on two legs or four. He gets along beautifully with other dogs and is also friendly with cats, though his enthusiasm can be a bit overwhelming for more timid kitties. A confident, dog-savvy cat would make an ideal companion for him.
This boy is full of life and energy but balances it with a sweet, affectionate nature. He loves being outside, running around the yard, splashing in a kiddie pool, and going for walks. He can get a little excited at the start of a walk, but with a gentle redirect, he settles right into a nice pace. After a day of play, Yonder is more than happy to sprawl across your lap for belly rubs and snuggles—he’s a lover through and through.
Being a shepherd mix, Yonder will thrive in a home that gives him a healthy dose of exercise, mental stimulation, and loving guidance. Shepherds are known for their intelligence, drive, and strong bonds with their families. With the right balance of activity, training, and affection, Yonder will blossom into a devoted, well-rounded companion.
He’s ready to become someone’s best friend, adventure buddy, and cuddle partner for life. Yonder has so much love to give and a heart that shines brighter than the Texas sun. Whoever brings this boy home is in for a lifetime of tail wags, belly laughs, and unconditional love.
